Barley and Barkway Church of England First Schools work as equal partners and are both set at the heart of their villages. Children come from these and the surrounding villages and from nearby Royston and Buntingford.
Children are taught in single year groups from Year 1 to Year 4 with years Nursery, Reception and Year 1 in Barkway and the pupils in Years 2, 3 and 4 in Barley. Both schools are rated 'Good' by OFSTED. Barkway Preschool is based at Barkway School. |
FOBBS is a group of parents, teachers and friends of Barkway & Barley schools who organise and support fundraising activities that benefit the education and wellbeing of the children that attend the schools.
The Barkway Preschool Committee joins forces with FOBBS to promote and fundraise for all three settings, at the annual Barkway Village Market and Barley Village Show. |
Our stay-and-play baby and toddler group welcomes parents, carers and children to the village hall every Wednesday morning for play, tea and a chat. We particularly enjoy welcoming new mums and dads with babies who are looking to meet fellow new parents.
The group is run by a member of the preschool staff and takes place in term time from 9.30am to 11.30am. You'll find us at Barkway Village Hall and the session costs £3 per child and £1 for each sibling. We even run sessions through some of the school holidays - join our Facebook group for updates @ Barkway Baby and Toddler Group. |
